The ANO-Sorter is the standard equipment for in-sorter of photo products.

Restrictions in the usability arise for two reasons; The manufacturer does not exist anymore; therefore modifications and/or re-ordering of Hard- and Software is difficult or no longer possible. Furthermore, in the original system, there are restrictions with respect to number of matrices and recognition.

The ANO Upgrade Kit is the solution.  With respect to the Hardware, the system related electronics have been replaced with a modern Microcontroller-Logic. In addition, the PC’s “Camera” and “Triorder” have been replaced with a current Windows XP based PC, which takes control of image processing and sorting. No special requirements are necessary beside the minimum speed of the CPU. In contrast to the old system, the PC is a replaceable component.

With respect to the software, there have been large improvements. The complete data handling of the system is XML-based and network-ready. Therefore the programming of the system does not have to be done at the ANO, but can be done on any common work station. Furthermore, the programming can be done with any facility. This means creating a Pocket layout will be done once, and the output file can be immediately shared to all facilities.  All files exist in .xml format. Any additional usage or manual intervention is possible at anytime, independent of special software.

In the process of sorting, the facility delivers the Pocket information as .xml files in Dauskat format, for evaluation to appropriate server. Furthermore, the images of the processed Pockets are available for service.
The sorting criteria are very flexible. All check-box combinations and negations can be defined for personal needs. The input process of the matrices and sorting, can be mapped and simplified through comfortable MS Windows Software.
The image process has been completely renewed. The Hardware is a modern commercial industry camera system, whose quality and availability is ensured.
The old halogen lighting has been replaced by a new lighting system, which functions through high-power LED with less wear and tear.
